1st Airplane Ride Ever! Gio 5.5 months
4th of July Wknd we flew to Dallas, just Baby G and I. We left Friday when the first tropical storm was hitting South Texas, but Houston was getting it's on beating of rain as well. I was so nervous to fly but figured you got to start somewhere. Our flight was delayed bc of rain so we just hung out with daddy till we had to go thru security. Security was great, I had Baby G in the sling and I didn't have to take him out, he said goodbye to Daddy and off we went. We get to our gate and just chill and play. Well it was time for our flight and baby g was getting fussy/sleepy and I thought perfect he will sleep the whole flight. So I walk around with him and he is soon asleep, ppl start lining up and guess what bc of all the rain, pilots and flights have been rerouted....meaning our pilot was not available.

An hour later, no pilot but they have us sitting in the plane, every seat was taken. The milk I had brought to feed Gio was done 2 hrs earlier, Gio is getting fussy, bc by now he is awake and ready to play with no room to roam. Poor little man, but off we went and thank goodness the guy sitting next to us was so nice especially since I am sure Gio kicked him a couple of times when he got fussy or when he was feeding. Speaking of feeding, he does well, but when he gets fussy he will bite down and then mommy is closed for business. So he bit down and I closed shop, looked into his mouth, guess what? Another tooth was cutting, right next to his first one. What the??? Hello! Sneaky little tooth. Welcome Tooth No 2!

We finally make it to Dallas and are welcomed by Godfather Jeremy and Auntie Lindsay. It was so great to see them after a crazy afternoon. I am lucky i had checked in suitcase, carseat and stroller bc that would have been another hassle. What was supposed to be a 40 min flight to Dallas ended up being a 3.5 hr ordeal, oh well, we made it safe and sound.
Gio is of course living it up and being spoiled by love, which he always needs thank you! I am spoiled as well by Jer and Lindsay, thanks for everything. We stayed at Casa Mckie which should be Hotel Mckie, bc we were treated like royalty. Can't keep saying thank you! Ate like crazy at all our favorite spots, went to see Grownups with Baby G, he slept of course. (Hint: Go early Sunday morning, only ppl with young kids go and the elderly). Finished Dexter Season 4, crazy! And of course hung out and just chilled, which to be honest was great! Gio got his first bath in a sink, so cute, have to get pics from Lindsay.

Gio was great through everything, although he got really fussy come 9 and wouldn't go to sleep, I think its the teething or could have been new surrounding who knew, but he was very clingy at night, either way, he would wake up so happy!

Monday came way too fast and off we were back to Houston. We were dropped off and it was so sad for me to say goodbye to Jer and Lindsay, knowing I am going to see them soon, either way, departures at Airports always leave me emotional, I am crazy I know. We checked in, ppl at Southwest are great and security at Love Field was Awesome, they let us go to the front of the line, bc of the baby! Thank you. Once again no problem wearing sling and Gio and off thru Security we went. We go to our gate, by the way, Gio is sound asleep again, he loves being in his sling. . So I walk around, we have 30 min to boarding, we finally get back, guess what, flight cancelled. So here we go get in line for new flight and boarding pass, thankfully, there is a flight leaving 5 min later, we get our pass and off we go. Gio and I sit next to our new friend, Sam a 12 yo boy who was flying home to Houston as well. He was so nice and played with Gio, I started singing some songs to Gio and he joined me. He was so sweet! Gio did great, we were 15 min away and guess what, its raining in Houston so we flew in circles for an extra 25 min. Those extra minutes were awful. Gio got really fussy, he wanted to sleep but couldn't and to be honest we were both exhausted. Flying is exhausting, all the rest we got, was now gone. Gio was close to tears and so was I. Damn weather! We finally get off and Daddy is waiting for us. We both survived and were finally home. Of course Baby G is greeted by grandma and new toys are awaiting for him. Gio and I both crash out at 7 and sleep the whole night. Baby G did so well, teething and everything, He wasn't phased one bit, but hey we all get fussy at one point or another, but I am so blessed with such a Happy Baby! Love you Baby G!

Back home and loving it!
