Happy 32!

Well I turned 32 on Monday and gio blessed me with sleeping in lol, this whole week we have been waking up late yikes I might need to invest in a alarm clock if this continues lol. The night before my mom and umer brought dinner over! It was so good ,my mom had asked us out for dinner but eating in worked better since I get out late from work. I requested all my favorite Indian dishes and it was so worth it!!! We had a great evening hangin out...I fell asleep with gio. Monday, I went to work then Luan and I picked up gio. Oh wait las mananitas blasted my voicemail at 12:01 am thanks to my mom I was too passed out to pick up. When we dropped off gio I walked into the house and las mananitas were playing very loudly and gio started dancing lol. Thanks mom! Christine watched gio for us in the evening and we went to eat at Guri de Sol in the Woodlands. Luan took the evening off thankfully and I was happy to have a birthday date nite. We then stuffed ourselves and enjoyed cupcakes from the Cupcakery and coffee. After dessert we headed to 300 strikes for nite bowling.... My idea thank u! So much fun we played 4 games I only won 1.... Boo but had a great time got my bday! This has been a lazy fun week just hanging out...the holidays are near and I cannot wait for break!!!
On Thursday I had the day off and took gio to open gym and then story time! He def enjoyed all the activities and the nmet up with Christine for lunch! Later in the evening, Lucy and Iliana came over for pizza then we headed out to winter wonderland fun at a local church. It was free and jam packed. We waited in line for the fire truck ride which was worth it. We climbed to the top and sat next to the edge. I was scared... Of course Iliana and gio had a blast! We then walked around and waited for the firework display. Gio was sitting, playing and then the first boom... He was so shocked and scared he turned and climbed into our arms and held tight. We have seen them plenty but never been this close to the explosion site... Yikes but he couldn't tear his eyes away!!! Great family nite!
Friday we ran errands and headed to the mall, gio thinks he is a big boy and wants to push his stroller rather than to ride in it. We try to steer him in the right direction but he hates help and throws himself into a tantrum first falls to his knees then cry then lays down and cries. Previously this happened twice I picked him up and kept going this time I told Luan to keep walking and I let gio work it out. I should be mortified but I wasn't bc it has gotten out of control so once he was done he got up and walked to Luan and calmed down. He turned around and said up I make him say please and I picked him up. I asked if he felt better and that we do not throw ourselves on the ground. We love him very much but we do not act like that. We hugged and moved on. We have also been working on hitting and biting in most cases he is playing but in others he is not so we address it each time to be consistent. Sleep has not been on schedule do to diff activities so we need to get back on track and it will help resolve other issues. Little man needs his nightly rest! it has been a great week and once again I'm blessed and happy with my family

December Round-up

Well, once again...fell off the blogging sphere. yikes. Thanksgiving break was amazing! Can I say that we were all spoiled by our mini break, it was amazing, to be with my boys. So hard to go back to work. We had Thanksgiving lunch at the inlaws and then dinner at Tita's. Gio of course had the time of his life spoiled by family and yummy food. Thanksgiving was gorgeous by the way, we enjoyed beautiful weather and family time. Friday was a lazy rainy day at home, my favorites. Saturday, ran errands of course. Sunday we went to Gio's Gymboree class, lunch with Nguyen's then the three of us went to Old Town Spring. Small town fun with pony rides, train and horse-drawn carriage rides. I loved every moment spent with my boys.
Gio has been busy wrecking havoc through all the homes spreading kisses, love and smiles. Such a happy baby, that I am surprised when I take him to Santa he gives the most grouchiest face ever. Uggh well at least he didn't cry this time, he just looked at Santa, then at the camera very unimpressed..lol. Santa even let him hold his bell to ring...yea nothing. we walked away he saw a train set, smiles galore. Jeez. Well I have been talking about Santa and how he tells everyone HO! Ho! Ho! and Merry Christmas....so guess who now points at Santa and Ho Ho HO, so cute. My mom finally made him say it. Merry Christmas we are working on. I am also working on Happy Birthday because mine is tomorrow and his is coming up next month. I read his happy birthday book from his first party and then talk about how we are having a thomas themed party. I can't wait, this might be a little out of control, oh well, you only live once, =p. GiGi is our pride and joy and when he spots a train or car he is so happy. Our local Chick-fil-a has activities and luan took G to see CowSanta this past Saturday and Mr. Claus was there guess what....unimpressed. He likes caricature Santa not real one. Lol! what else...Christine and I took Gio to the children's museum they has posada events....we cleaned out our closets and maybe gio was forces into an old costume, he looked adorable...We also finally had an opportunity to meet up with Iliana and Lucy, Gio loves Iliana so much, he was talking to her, who knows what he was saying but he was talking and following her and doing whatever she did. so cute! December so far has been great, cant wait for Christmas and my birthday tomorrow. I am about to be 32 and can't be thankful enough for all my blessings, especially Luan and Giovanni! I am a lucky girl!

hives part 2

We had an impromptu trip to San Antonio on Halloween, which Christine came with us. While Luan had a CE class, Gio, Christine and I hung out with the Marquez Family. We had a great time even though it was just for the day. Of course when Gio heads to to San Antonio, his allergies flare up and runny nose came back to visit us. Never fails, lol. Anywoo we headed back to Houston very full from yummy food and fell back into routine. This week we were visited by the Resendez Family and finally got to meet baby Ava. We met up for dinner at Pappadeux and had fun reconnecting. Gio was fine until he didn't want to sit anymore. He was not happy during dinner, so Luan left with him since everyone was coming over after dinner. Gio was quiet and sniffling throughout the nite and very tired. So I put him to bed and felt that he was warm, I asked Luan if he felt like this during the day and he said no. They had gone to gymboree and then gio had a very long nap and played at home. Hmmm...well next morning Gio after a long unrestful nite with Gio we wake up and there are some red dots on his face, we go to my mom's when I pick him up they are worse. Then I see red dots on his hands but not on the rest of his body, I finally give him so benadryl and it instantly calms down and he is able to rest. He was very needy and did not want to be by himself. My mom said he would just cry if she put him to nap, he wanted to be held. I have also started to wean him from day BF so I thought maybe he was fighting it and since we are weaning maybe the increased milk caused allergy? I didn't know but he finally got some rest and slept. Tuesday it is coming back slightly and so I made sure to have my mom give him benadryl after he ate, since he had also refused to eat food since his mouth hurt. It was so sad to see him, I called the pedi and they suggested what we were already doing and as long as he had wet diapers and no fever we were ok. So we monitored him but guess what benadryl has two adverse reactions: 1. it can make you very tired and sleepy or 2. insomnia. Tuesday I had a late day at work and guess what Gio had not slept even though he was exhausted his little body would not rest, the minute I put him in the car he fell asleep, took him inside, slept. even though it was late, I let him rest. He slept so good that nite and woke up bubbly and happy. The hives were finally gone and just residual scabs on his hands from where he had scratched at them. His legs also were trying to heal since gio kept scratching them open, uggh seriously it was first aid this week.
He is feeling alot better, so after evaluating his foods it could have been shrimp, strawberries or milk. All 3 he had previously on many occasions, but until he clears out he is back on almond milk, no berries and no fish. Once is fully recovered we will introduce the milk slowly to make sure it is not that. Crazy week! Good news, little man is back to his happy spirits and running everywhere, I had Friday off and spent the whole day chilling with Gio. I cleaned up the restrooms, made blueberry waffles and turkey nuggets with sweet potato puree hidden in the mix, so yummy! Luan and I were also blessed to be asked to be Ava Resendez Godparents. We are very honored and happy to accept. Back to work this weekend and cant wait for Thanksgiving break 4 day weekend with my boys and I also taking a week off in December during xmas break, I cannot wait. Time to enjoy the holidays, hopefully I can get started on decorating the house next week! Happy Holidays!

Hallow's Eve Bash

We hosted our first home party by inviting our family and friend over for halloween bash. I of course had to work and tried to organize everything the nite before so Luan just had to greet everyone. Of course it didn't work out like that, but in the end the party was fun. Thanks to my Mom who cannot stay uninvolved, in a good way and showered us with last minute goods and of course that awesome brisket. Thanks to Christine who came over to help organize and bake our yummy desserts. We made smore treat bags, rice krispy pumpkins, sugar cookie fingers with raspberry jam (blood) and chocolate spiders. My mom got there early to be with gio and when i finally got home angelica and lucy were over. The kids came dressed and so cute. We had a great time, good food and fun. We also played some minute it to win it games, oreo from your forehead to your mouth not using your hands and stack as many cups as you can with one hand. seems easy enough right, well it was hilarious to watch and the competition was on. Lee won the oreo challenge and olivia won the cups. Great time overall. Gio even wore his redone Potato costume without complaint and socialized with everyone. So cute!

october daily life

well same ol same ol, having fun and running around the city as always. Gio goes to gymboree with daddy on sunday and then passes out for a nap from exhaustion. During the week we have been running errands getting stuff for the house and party that we are hosting on Hollow's Eve. Luan and I stayed up on Thursday to finish the costumes, me sewing and luan cleaning up Gio's room. He helped me with the face decorations. Well Friday I was so exhausted but excited to try it on Gio....he hated it as it was going on, once on he started to tear and pull at the parts.
I just started crying, all that work..down the drain. Costume Fail! Oh well back to the drawing board, I realized that it was way too big and found extra material that I am going to attempt to use kind of like a sandwich board and not so consuming. I'll be doing that tonite along with desserts and decorating the house. I am so excited for our family to come over and spend time with us. The weather is going to be great. I wanted to take Gio to pumpkin patch but with me working and luan doing stuff at home its been hectic. No trick or treating for us this year, we are headed to SA for the nite and will be driving.
Houston was recently swarmed by mosquitos, it was crazy and gio unfortunately fell to their nasty bites and of course my little boy loves to pick at his scabs, his face and legs look crazy bc he will attack it. poor little one. i have been putting all my little potions and lotions and hopefully its healing, i need to use some mederma on his legs bc he is all scabbed up already at almost 2, he just runs full steam. If the door open he runs out and makes a quick lap or two around the yard, it's hilarious but worries me that my mother or aunt won't be able to keep up with him. lol. Well we tried to enjoy the Annual Ballunar Festival but the mosquitos were crazy, so we waited for the glow and then left. On the way home some must have stayed in the car and got little man, ugh.




Anywhoo what is Lil G up to?
-Running full steam, talking nonstop, repeating everything u say if he cant, he will change it up. saying no alot, uh oh, no more day feeds just morning and nite, i am trying very hard to be strong its working so far, his crying will break my will but stayed strong, he is growing up, we might wean earlier than i thought...maybe. he has started to suck on his thumb here and there I guess to replace the milky time? I casually pull it out and keep on going, doesn't phase him. playing on his own he just wants to be able to see us. interested in other kids and what they are playing and ready to copy them. He is going to Level 5 in Gymboree, Miss Nikki told us to go ahead and move him up early. Yea my little one is not a baby anymore but at nite when I put him to bed he curls up for a little bit and its heaven! Love being a mommy to Giovanni!
