Spring Sun

Spring is here and its just gorgeous outside. The weather has been great these past couple of weeks in Houston. Sunny, cool morning and evenings, warm mid-days, just perfect! We have attempted to go to the beach for the past 3 weekends but something always comes up, especially our redecorating. We live in cramped quarters so we moved some furniture out and put new in and our room is finally done. I thought when we prepared for Gio we were living great, now not so much, removed bulky furniture out and presto space and we can breathe again. Saturday we organized while Gio played and napped. By 5pm we had cabin fever and went to the park so Gio could run around. Luan and I took turns running after Gio, it's so amazing to see him walking and interested in the world around him. We are very proud parents watching our child evolve in front of us. He points to everything and you hear "HMMMmm?" Either he is asking for something or he is explaining something to you. He sits and reads books to himself or hands them to me to read to him. He points things out and we talk about them or he anticipates whats going to happen. Love it.
Sunday we were determined to go to the beach. I had packed some snacks the night before and in the morning packed some clothes and last minute items. Breakfast was to go because we didn't want to waste any more time, a nap was upon us. Gio takes two naps a day but he is fighting naps on occassion, sometimes he wants two sometimes just one. He was playful the ride to Galveston and he loves the sign language flash cards we keep in the car. He and daddy were having a lesson as I drove, we finally arrive and someone finally looks drowsy. We thought about driving around or walking but gio perked up as he saw the ocean. So we rented some lounge chairs and umbrella along the seawall and set up camp. Gio explored and played with his new beach toy equipment, he picked out a car of course. Then daddy decided gio should test out the water, yea cold water and Gio don't mix. Daddy didn't get that Gio did not like the water, I guess the clinging and crying were not clue enough. After the water "fun" Gio was very clingy and only wanted to be with mommy, walking in the sand was no longer fun. We tried to lure him to continue to play but it was a no-go. We decided to sit for a bit in our lounge chairs while Gio nursed and then took a nap. It was so windy, we had to move our chairs into the sun to stay warm, Hubby and I enjoyed the sea salt and sun. We were getting cold and decided it was time for lunch. Hubby packed up while I carried Gio back to the car. We ate at our favorite Mario's but Gio was is a very clingy mood, we drove home and enjoyed family time in our room. We watched a movie together and Gio danced and played to any song that came on. He fell asleep between us, while we finished the movie. Great Sunday!
